Remarks
Returns coefficients c[0] .. c[n]
  Y(x) = c[0] + c[1]x + c[2](x**2) + ... + c[n](x**n)
The X scale is unitless (1 per element), i.e. 0,1,2,3,...
The polynomial VV length is set to the number of coefficients
(order + 1)
